Directions to Campus

Getting to the University of Maryland is easy whether you are driving up from the District, taking a Metro train, or flying in from somewhere else. The main entrance to the campus is located on US Route 1, just a short walk from downtown College Park, MD. Please click here for detailed directions to campus.

Parking Permits

All guests attending New Student Orientation at the University of Maryland must display an official Parking Permit on their dashboard while parking on campus. Please select the Parking Permit associated with the your program type below, download and print the PDF permit, and display on your dash. The Orientation Office is not responsible for any parking tickets or towing as a result of student or parent/family member parking in incorrect or non-designated lots, areas or metered spaces on campus. Please refer to your Parking Permit for specific lot and parking information.

Parents and family members, please note that you will be downloading and using the Parking Permit that corresponds with your student's program type. Also, when parking for Terp Trips in the summer, your assigned parking lot (Lot 1) is a different parking lot from the prior day (Lot 2) for our two-day programs.

On-campus driving directions are provided on each Parking Permit. Please follow these parking signs on campus to your designated lot.
