New Student orientationTERPS

We are excited to welcome you to the Maryland family. At New Student Orientation, you will meet with an academic advisor, connect with other new Terps, and register for classes. Our program is designed to prepare you for the academic rigor at UMD, introduce you to Maryland traditions, and acquaint you with campus resources. We look forward to seeing you on campus soon!

Parents & Families are welcome and encouraged to join us for an Orientation program. This program is separate from the student's program, and our staff and the university are here to provide transitional resources to the parents and families of new entering Maryland students as your family goes through the college transition together. Having a student beginning college or transferring from one school to another is simultaneously exciting and stressful, and, due to its size, navigating the University of Maryland may seem daunting. To learn more about how you can get involved, visit the Office of Parent & Family Affairs website.
